Trump claims that electing Harris would bring about World War III, while Michelle Obama campaigns for her in Michigan.

With less than two weeks until the U.S. Presidential Election, campaigning has intensified as both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris exchange sharp criticisms.

During his campaign in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Harris, claiming her election would “guarantee” the United States’ entry into World War III and asserting she would be ineffective in handling global leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to The Hill.

“Trump argued that electing Harris would put millions of lives at risk, claiming she would lead the U.S. into World War III due to her inability to handle the role. He warned that such a conflict would result in people’s ‘sons and daughters’ being drafted to fight in unfamiliar countries. Trump pledged to prevent World War III, asserting the nation is ‘closer than ever’ to it.

He also insisted that conflicts like the one following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel would not have occurred if he were president.

Meanwhile, in Michigan, former First Lady Michelle Obama campaigned for Vice President Harris, where she criticized Trump and pointed out what she sees as a ‘double standard’ in the presidential race, The Hill reported.”

“I have to ask myself: Why on earth is this race even close? I lie awake at night wondering what is going on,” Michelle Obama said at a rally in Kalamazoo.

As an early supporter of Harris following President Biden’s exit from the race, she highlighted the significant differences between the two presidential candidates while warning about the consequences of a second Trump term.

“I hope you’ll forgive me if I’m a bit frustrated that some people are choosing to overlook Donald Trump’s gross incompetence while expecting Kamala to impress us at every turn,” she remarked.

“I also hope you’ll understand why I’m a little angry that we’re indifferent to his erratic behavior, his clear mental decline, his history as a convicted felon, a known slumlord, and a predator found liable for sexual abuse—all while we scrutinize Kamala’s responses in interviews he doesn’t even have the courage to face,” the former First Lady added.

Her comments come amid polls showing a tight race between Harris and Trump, with Harris slightly ahead nationally but tied in Michigan. Obama expressed hope that voters considering supporting Trump or abstaining from voting will “snap out of whatever fog we are in” before Election Day, as reported by The Hill.

The Kalamazoo rally marked Michelle Obama’s first campaign appearance for Harris, coinciding with the start of early voting in Michigan. Former President Obama has also been actively campaigning in key states, appearing with Harris in Georgia on Thursday.

The presidential elections are scheduled for November 5.
